Do you have an iphoneand wish that you could customize your own ringtones? You may think you are stuck with the many, plain and boring ringtones provided by apple, but the truth is, if you have any song on your computer you can make it recognizable on your iphone as an acceptable ringtone, and I will show you how to do this.
This is NOT illegal, it is a simple matter of tweaking a few things on your computer.
You will NOT be instructed to illegally download anything or steal any content. Feel better? Good, now down to business.
Computer skills needed for making things Apple iPhone ringtones is minimal if you follow my instructions closely. I will try and make this process as simple and easy as possible for you. Are you ready to get going? I am going to walk you through 17 steps- don't feel overwhelmed, we'll take our time and make this ringtone together:
*STEP 1: Open iTunes.

*Step 2: Find the song you would like to make into a ringtone.

*Step 3: Listen to the chosen song and find the part you would like as your ringtone, the chorus is an obvious choice, but again you choose.

*Step 4: write down the time frame you want for your ringtone.

*Step 5: Right click the song and select-GET INFO.

*Step 6: Click on the -OPTIONS- tab.

*Step 7: Enter in the start time(remember step 4?) in the text box named- START TIME- minutes:seconds (i.e, 3:03) Format.

(We're half way done... hanging in there?)

*Step 8: Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to-STOP TIME- remeber to Make sure the ringtone is no more than 40 seconds long.

*Step 9: Click -OK-

*Step 10: Right click on your song, and select -CONVERT SELECTION TO AAC- Wait for iTunes to convert your song to AAC,It will then create a duplicate version of the song in AAC format. (aac is the format recognized by itunes for your ipod- seperating it from other MP3 players.)

*Step 11: Right click ringtone and select DELETE

*Step 12: Click on the KEEP FILES button

*Step 13: Right click again on song and select open file location. IT will have an extension of m4a

*Step 14: Right click on the song, select RENAME and then Replace the M4a extension of your ringtone with m4r.

*Step 15: Click -USE .m4r-

*Step 16: Double click the ringtone file. iTunes will have automatically added it to your ringtone folder in your iTunes music library.

*Step 17: Connect your iPhone and SYNC your Ringtones.

There you go, you now have your very own ringtone! Painless right? This whole process will take you less time to actually make your iphone ringtone then it took for me to write the steps!! I hope you enjoy your new found tool of making your own Ringtones for your Apple iPhone.
